CLASS 1

Why Your Heart Breaks: Navigating Our Expectations

Meditation for Week 1: Mindfulness: Counting the Breath

Post Meditation Practice for Week 1: Be in Nature

For at least a few minutes a day (or one long stretch this week) just allow yourself to be outside. Feel the sun on your skin. Feel the earth through your feet. Admire a bird building her nest. Simply rest your mind for a while and connect to the world around you.

CLASS 2

Four Questions That Help Us Process a Broken Heart

Meditation for this Week: Mindfulness: Gatha Meditation

The above is the recommended meditation for the second week where we label each aspect of the breath, calming the body on the inbreath, smiling on the outbreath.

Post Meditation Practice for this Week: The Four Exhillarations

Take the time to try and practice all four of the techniques listed in the video in one day (eating well, sleeping well, meditation and exercise). See how you feel having done all four in one day.

CLASS 3

Strong Emotions: Ride Them or They Will Ride You

Meditation for this Week: Mindfulness of Emotions and R.A.I.N.

The above is the two recommended meditations for the coming weeks. The former is us tuning into the emotions themselves, similar to how we tune into the breath, whereas the former is a four step process of working with emotions. Next week we will receive a new technique!

Post Meditation Practice for this Week: 3 On the Spot Techniques

Play with the three on the spot techniques introduced in today’s video:

  • Is This Helpful?

  • What Can I Enjoy Right Now?

  • What Am I Grateful for Today?

CLASS 4

Navigating Impermanence: Staying Grounded in the Face of Uncertainty

Meditation for this Week: Mindfulness-Awareness Meditation

The above is the recommended meditation for the coming week. It is a bit longer than before (15 minutes vs. 10) but I truly believe you can do it! As mentioned in the video above, I recommend continuing on with the emotions practices as well.

Post Meditation Practice for this Week: Journaling on Positive Change

Check out the 3 minute video below on this week’s post meditation practice: journaling!

CLASS 5

Four Ways of Loving: Learning to Love Anew

Meditation for this Week: Loving-Kindness

The above is the recommended meditation for going forward, alongside your choice of mindfulness of the breath technique. It is a bit longer than before (15 minutes vs. 10).

Post Meditation Practice for this Week: Aspiration

As mentioned in this week’s teaching, particularly when you find yourself lost in stories around heartbreak, offer yourself the aspiration “May I learn to look at myself with the eyes of understanding and compassion.”

Thank you so much for doing this work with me. I hope we can reconnect soon.
